Top 5 Must Haves for Winter Coats 2015

If you looked into my closet I literally have a dozen black coats. I know, I know, I need some color in my life, but I can say that they are all different.

This season there are so many winter coat trends. So I thought I would help you decide which top 5 winter coats are a must have.

1. Pea Coat

Classic. Preppy. Can go from day to night. I actually have two them; one in black and one in tan. The best part is I bought them at H&M and they are still available this season!!! $39.99

2.  Brightly Colored Coat

I’m actually going to take my own advice on this one. A brightly colored coat can liven up our winter dreary days as well as a monochromatic outfit. When you wear color, you’ll not only feel good but you’ll stand out in the crowd (which is never a bad thing).

3.  The Duffle Coat

This style coat will definitely keep you warm this winter but will also keep in the know with fashion. It’s faux fur trimmed collar and toggle front closure will suit your daytime to nighttime activities all winter long.

Toggle Duffle Coat $228 $159.60

4.  The Cape/Poncho

Oooooh the cape/poncho. I have had a love/hate with this style this season. Some seem to be designed for the lovely women that are 5’5″ and taller where as us little women, need to make sure we find one that doesn’t swallow us.

So with that said, I did find one that fits not only petite women, but also woman that are taller. Yay!! You get a cape! You get a cape! And you get a cape!

Ps. Some may think, “That’s not going to keep me warm.” Oh ladies, it will. This is a perfect piece to wear on days you’re running errands or shopping. I know I for one do not  like to wear a coat when I am doing either one of those.

Faux-Leather Trim Mock-Neck Poncho $59.95

5.  The Parka

If you live in New England like I do, you will remember how bad mother nature hit us last year. I will not let her get the best of me this year. I am prepared to keep warm while I shovel myself out and clean my car off. This style coat has come a long way and I’m happy that it did. Not only will you stay warm but you will look cute while doing it.

There you have it ladies! The top 5 must haves for this 2015 winter season. I am happy to say I have 4 out of 5 styles at this current moment and will be adding in a pop of color this winter.

erica

I was actually lucky enough that I have a pea coat but I have a feeling this winter is going to be very hard here in MA. I may have to buy a warmer winter coat..
