In honor of National Singles Week, I thought I’d chime in with a few thoughts of my own on this trending topic on Twitter. Nowadays there are more and more woman my age that are single, and I’ve come to the realization that it is not us; we are not the reason or cause of WHY we are single. It’s also not all men that are the reason to blame. I think the “group”/generation of people of our age are either comfortable in their own ways and it can be difficult to really let someone in, or we are being really careful with whom we choose to be in our lives. I’m with latter. There have been too many failures of relationships in my life and in any new ones, I’m constantly thinking about “Does this person fit into my life?” and if so “How?”
This week I’m going to continue to embrace my singleness. Being single, continues to let me feel the butterflies of talking to someone new, looking forward to those good morning and good night texts, and the simple things that put a smile on my face. Being single also gives me the freedom to really become comfortable with being by MYSELF. I truly believe that in order for anyone to be in a happy, loving relationship, you need to be in a happy, loving relationship with yourself.
So raise your glasses girls & boys!!! Be happy and embrace your singleness. Enjoy watching your ‘girly’ shows or ‘manly’ shows with no one complaining next to you. Embrace the nights where you can paint your nails and read your magazines without having talk to a single soul. (Take in the peacefulness) And lastly, being single means you are wonderful just the way you are. Smart, Independent, Sassy, Funny, etc.
Some day, some will love the you, you love. Period.

“But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”
