Chocolate Mug Cake

With National Chocolate Month almost coming to a close, I could not keep this delicious and easy recipe from you. Thanks to my sister who introduced it to me, it is definitely any chocolate lovers dream.

This recipe is so easy any one can make this in just 5 minutes. All you simply need is a microwave and a coffee mug!

finished produce

Now being the Virgo that I am, I also had a bowl to actually do all of the mixing, but it is not necessary.

Here’s the ingredients of what you’ll need:

Ingredients

5 minute chocolate cake (Thank you Mod Mommy!)

Ingredients:
4 Tablespoons flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (Microwave Safe)

Method:
– Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
– Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
– Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
– Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Now for the method, here’s what I did.

I added the dry ingredients into a bowl. Make sure to mix them well even if you’re just using a mug.

Then add in your egg. Once you mix that well, pour in the milk and oil. I actually added in my splash of vanilla at this time as well. Not sure if that made a huge difference or not.

mixed ingredients

Once I mixed it up really well, I then poured it into my mug.

mug

Next, put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. Depending upon the strength of your microwave, you can adjust your time.

And voila!!! You have a delicious cake in literally 5 mintues from start to finish.

Let your cake cool for a second and then you can eat it right out of the mug, top it off with some yummy ice cream or eat it as is.

finished product

I must admit, I had a pretty easy clean up as well. Rinsed the mug out and put it right into the dishwasher. I have to say, this snack was a perfect way to take care of my chocolate crave.

For my healthier chocolate lovers, I found a recipe on my friend’s blog, Love the Leap, that I am also going to try with my delicious Chocolate Vegan Shakeology.

Happy baking!!
