Even though I have been blogging for almost 4 years (ummm did I really just say 4 years!), I still feel a simple introduction is necessary. We all evolve and change daily, let alone yearly. So I’m going to take this first day of the #FeelGoodBlogging Challenge as a reintroduction to who I am at this moment in my life.
Why did you start blogging?
I first started blogging back in January of 2011. I needed to come up with a blog for a group that I belonged to. Four years ago, social media was just starting to become an important part of our lives.
I loved to write, I loved fashion and beauty, and I thought “why shouldn’t I start this”? I’m glad that I was kind of “forced” to start one because I honestly don’t know when I would have done it. My sister, being the tech guru that she is, had started one and had her own little website business going on and I thought to myself, this is something I could definitely do and make a living from it one day. So she and I sat down one Sunday afternoon and The Glamourous Guide was born.
Who is your blog for?
My blog first started out for the everyday woman who loves the “glamorous” life. I wanted to show all women that all of our lives are glamorous. We can have a great wardrobe on a budget, we can afford the fabulous makeup and beauty products and then I eventually developed more lifestyle content, adding in health/fitness, recipes, and just a little thought. I started to use my blog as my outlet. I like to read blogs that relate to me and I want my blog to be the same for women.
What’s something you’ve been working on lately that you’re REALLY proud of?
Something that I’ve been working on lately that I’m REALLY proud of is- myself. I had a really tough beginning of the year and I really took the time to work on me. I took my health, fitness, mind and relationships by the horns. I am still a work in progress and weeding through what I need in my life and what I don’t, but I am getting there. Once you find the mental capacity to take your life into your own hands for the better, you will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. But don’t ponder that question for too long. It doesn’t matter how long it took you to get there, the best part is, YOU DID!
What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you hope people take away from your blog?
My one message I hope people take away from my blog is that you are not alone. We are in this crazy, wild, yet wonderful life together and it is “Glamourous”.
xoxo
I love your blog! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!! It’s been a work in progress for 4 years 🙂
